Bolas Techniques
Certain techniques are favoured by the truly professional bolas thrower:
The Aerial: The traditional technique whereby the bolas is spun three times only above the contender's head before being loosed.

The Coulson: A strong Aerial throw used to produce both length and height. Accurate yet lacking in the after-throw elegance of The Nunro.

The Manwell: An eccentric sideways technique, short in rotational momentum but excellent in terms of height potential. A munch favoured technique for those challenging arboreal situations.

The Munro: Although fraught with the danger of being unable to let go of the bolas, [loosening] this technique, if mastered, does produce an elegant after-throw posture much compared in artistry to that of a gymnast.

HMV Signing
By S.Kimo.
In the dim and distant past that was this May, London was blessed with a
visitation by both Paul Gross and David Marciano. They were flown over, plucked from tying up the loose ends on Due South, to attend a number of promotional events.
At the time, little mention of this historic visit was made ether by the press
or by the BBC - the reason was that the BBC recorded interviews with the duo for taansmiasion in September when the scoond season was to be aired. The BBC also prevented other interested parties from talking to Paul and David - like media magazines.
While they were in London, however, they attended a video signing event at HMV
on Oxford Street to promote the release of the season.Paul bless him was forced / asked to wear a rather bad copy of Fraser's dress uniform - it looked like the organiser's had stolen it from a fancy dress shop! . and the two were later cornered into having their pictures taken with a pseudo-Diefenbaker. No wonder they both looked like they were gritting their teeth at such cringe-making exessses! On behalf of all Britons . we're not all that nausesting Paul and David!
The signing, I was told by the HMVs more than helpful PA guy, was a floor-wiping
success. Not even Kate Moss had been so popular!! Paul and David sat behind their table, a mega screen playing clips of DS episodes continually behind them, and signed for a good two hours. I have to say David did occasionally show signs of impatience and poor Paul looked as if he was being boiled alive in the fake uniform but they were both unfailingly polite, friendly and gracious given the enormous queue of people. It was exhilarating to see them both in the flesh and I know they made a lot of people's dreams come true.

Toronto Adventures
By Sarah Kutschera
Just recently I got back from my holidays in Toronto. We only went for a week and that whole week I was looking to see if they were filming near us. While I was walking down the street near our hotel, I saw the Alliance building. So I went in and asked the security guard if DS was filming and which floor the DS office was. He told me they only started filming a month before on a new set of episodes. The next piece of information made my dreams come true. He said Paul Gross was on the 15th floor of the building at the moment with other producers in a meeting. And apparently so was David. I was only 14 floors away from Paul Gross! I could have been in the same room with him if I had been on the fifteenth floor. They'd had a DS Day and he and the new Dief showed up for a few minutes. Sadly that was the day we landed and I was very jet-lagged and didn't know about it.
That evening I rang up the DS office. Their secretary told me to come in the next day and she would give me some information. The information was a press pack which had only been sent a week before, a photo of the new guy, Ben, Dief, and a cardboard poster. The lady was very polite and was very pleased I am a fan of DS. I came home happy.
